Dave and a friend were going to take a hike up 10,870' Mount Rose overlooking Reno and Lake Tahoe and asked Amy in passing if she wanted to go.  I'm not sure if she was enthusiastic or not, but she went.  They all started out as a group, but Dave's friend eventually pulled ahead as Dave kept pace with Amy.  About half-way up, she was ready to quit, but Dave kept encouraging her.  By the time they were 3/4 up the mountain, Amy's chest was burning, she was tired, and just wanted to quit.  Dave insisted and kept encouraging until Amy put her head down and became determined to finish.  When they finally reached the top, Amy was so happy.  Dave was taking pictures of Lake Tahoe when he turned around to see Amy, looking over Reno, with her fists in the air, celebrating her victory.
